Studio Policy

Please read the following policies to understand our standards and expectations.

B&C Music will operate on a schedule closely related to the local schools system. We will have a fall semester, winter semester, spring semester, and summer semester (similar to a college) with a few recitals and several other performance opportunities. All students commit to their reserved time slot for the full semester. Should students need to pick a different time slot they can do so at the beginning of the next semester.

Fees

  • Fees are paid monthly on the 1st of each month. Payments can be made via cashapp and/or venmo or in-person by cash or check, but payments must be made for the full month. No lessons will be taught until payment has been received. If payment is not received or payment issues are not rectified by the 7th day of the month, a $50 late fee will be charged. Issues with payment can easily be rectified by communicating with the instructor prior to any issues.

Lesson termination

  • By enrolling in lessons, the student has committed to attend and pay for the full semester. 15 days notice is required via e-mail to bcprivatemusiclessons@gmail.com if a student wishes to pause or stop lessons once a semester has started. Students are committed to the entire semester once enrolled. If the instructor is not notified within the allotted time the fee will still be charged and the student will be expected to pay.

Booking Lessons

  •  Lessons can be booked online. They are expected to be on the same day at the same time throughout the semester.

Cancelation Policy

  • To cancel your lesson, please let us know at least 24-hours ahead of time. If you fail to contact us before your lesson is scheduled to start, we will bill you the full amount of the lesson.

Attendance

  • Students are expected to be at their lessons each week. Students will have one make-up lesson they can use during the semester. The times available for make-up lessons will be based on the availability of the instructor. Make-up lessons may be shorter or online based on the availability of the instructor. Should students miss or cancel their make-up lesson, then the lesson is considered forfeit, and payment will be required.

Practicing Policy

  • Students should practice every single day. There should not be more than one day that goes by without their instrument being removed from the case and played— even if they only play for 10 minutes.

  • Students are expected to practice on materials and complete assignments given by their instructor. When students participate in any performance hosted by B&C Music, they are representing B&C Music. Therefore, should the instructor determine that the student is not prepared, they reserve the right to pull them from said performances. Students will be notified 2 weeks prior to performances if they are not going to be performing.

Inclement Weather

  • B&C Music will not necessarily operate on the local school system snow days schedule. If the instructor or student is unable to get to lessons due to weather, then lessons may be moved online. If that is not an option, then lessons will be rescheduled and will not be counted as their one make-up lesson for the semester.

Covid-19

  •  Masks are not required for meetings and lessons. Should you or your student feel like they need to wear a mask they are more than welcome to do so. If you or your student are feeling sick and have a fever, please inform the instructor and your lesson can be rescheduled for a later date or moved online.

Agreement

  • B&C Music reserves the right to use photos and videos of students for marketing purposes.

  • By registering for lessons you are agreeing to these policies.

  • These policies are subject to change.
